of course they had almost no chance of winning that war, but bombing another country with super weapons is never the way to resolve Japan were never going to invade beyond China and Asia into Europe like Germany, France, Italy, england and certainly not USA
but the innocents were living alright without the warning of america bombing them and imho the invasion of japan would have infact saved lives if they did the invasion correctly.

i dont claim to know everything about the politics but that doesnt strike me as being fair bombing their country when the deaths from a war would have been the same without the innocents dying

yeah & can you believe that Japan, even though they all knew there was NO WAY for them to win this war, kept fighting & prolonging the suffering of their own ppl b/c they were looking for ways to "save face" after all the atrocities they had committed during this war?
