that helped gaining some knowledge
btw they didnt mention opportunities for nanoelectronics like quantum computers
their perfomance will be million times higher than present computers.
also new isolators are in process

Watch the movie Wall-E!

i think with nanotechnology lasers will be alot stronger

truly amazing
theory problem with mind it can only look at one aspect at a time so we are creating the interpretation of what is known by subjective experiment in other words we cannot see totality at any one time its only because you are thinking it at that moment in time.its like having a circle of limitation or parameters.and you cannot see outside that circle due to limits of subjectivity experience.and just maybe you cannot come up with an experiment to know it.create experiment to know.

I believe that's the heisenberg principle? But it's been proven that we can move atoms or molecules around. IBM have proven this by spelling 'IBM' with atoms.

control is a good thing if you really think about it. do you really want a bunch of people running around out of control? control has been going on since the beginning of human civilization. a smart athiest would love to see humans controlled by religions because it creates more stability than it does chaos, on a continental scale.

who exactly is "we"? you mean big corporations that only wanna get rich? I've been living since the 80's and I can guarantee you that the 80's was a much better time to live than now. and the ironic thing is technology was nothing back then compared to now.

The "big corporations" you speak of are the ones who have chosen this path of life style and we have supported to make them this wealthy. There is nothing wrong with taking this path. Both routes have pros and cons. Not advancing in technology would leave us vulnrable in knowledge sence but taking this route creates us a more artificial and computarized life. Not to mention the side effects that impact us (radiation and such). But maybe the continious advancement will eliminate the cons.

ronpack; I think just about every generation in the history of mankind has said the time they grew up in was better than the time they died in. People in general tend to dislike change, but love nostalgia. Personally, I ADORE the technology we have now, and couldn't imagine life without it.
ronpack (August 26, 2008 at 4:36 pm)
well, there's one thing for certain. human beings are never gonna stop advancing technology. the only thing I worry about is dangerous experiments done in the name of science. they should be doing those on other planets. not Earth...
