THECAKEUATE (November 20, 2008 at 3:46 pm)
no worries, we all make mistakes... and yeah this is by far the best version out there, no argument there!
ClashCityRockers0 (November 20, 2008 at 12:30 pm)
Exactly! This is what I always have to say when people say they sold out. They really were about the people. Rock on!

If you like the Clash you wouldn't call them sell outs who was out to make money. For god sake, they were in debt with their record company because they wanted to sell their double LP's for the price of one, since they wanted their fans to get VFM.
Plus, this is problably the best cover I've ever heard, since I think it's better than the original. But that's just my opinion.

You know I like the Clash but, stick they should stick to their own material. Remakes are just selling out to make money, kinda cheapens them.

IMO opnion the Clash did this a little better the Bobby Fuller Four. And a hell of a lot better than Green Day. Green Day are just bullshit sell outs. The Clash are the Best Punk band ever.
THECAKEUATE (November 19, 2008 at 5:42 pm)
lol nice kid. the clash covered it along with a great many other bands. including green day i guess (did they seriously cover this too ? ahhh the humanity). avatarfeature has got his shit stright.
avatarfeature (November 19, 2008 at 2:39 pm)
No, the Clash's version IS a cover. The original was Sonny Curtis and the Crickets in 59. Later in 65, the Bobby Fuller Four did a much more popular cover. Clash's version wasn't around til' 78.
