A Mel Gibson film,one of my favourate films,and I love the music very much,so,I made this.

The Patriot tells the story of Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson), a widowed father of seven children, as he tries to keep his family together during the Revolutionary War. He had fought in the French and Indian War, since married and started a family. He has tried to put his actions in that war behind him, but still carries some guilt and regret from those actions. He fears that his past will come back to haunt him.

When war breaks out, his eldest son Gabriel (Heath Ledger) joins the fight against his wishes. Benjamin soon ends up reluctantly joining the fight as well. His successfully leads a militia band against the British until Colonel William Tavington (Jason Isaacs) is ordered to do everything he can to capture or kill Martin and his South Carolina militia.

Okay...

The Americans needed the French to defeat the British. The Americans couldn't have done it alone, so to everyone denying this you're obviously a very proud American and haven't educated yourself on this, but just remember your pride right now is nothing without the French because without them, you probably wouldn't exist.

So next time you think about dissing the French, and saying they're worthless, or whatever, a surrender joke perhaps. Just remember, they helped you out bigtime.

Yorktown..French troops barricaded scores of British lines from entering. "It is a War America could not have survived without French assistance"..ONLY reason the French bailed out yanks (yes Spanish & Dutch helped too) wasn't kindness to america but because French were terrified of British Empire

Although the French liberated america..and only small % of British troops were involved, British later gained revenge over the French notably Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon

Yes i know other nations also bailed out the yanks such as Spain, Holland...but the French provided greatest military, artilliary, troops, navy they used themselves as well given to yanks.

Without the French america wouldn't exist and its fitting the statue of Liberty is french given they did liberate the land its situated on.
