The character is in the book, it's the little boy to whom the story is addressed, and he's incorporated in it as well by the narrator. Winnie is Christopher's teddy-bear. I haven't seen all of the Soviet Vinni cartoons, but i don't think that he appears in any; he's been replaced with Piglet in the first story, for instance.
