I'm pretty sure that Manhattan Transfer wrote this - it was on their Cry Me Hot Seed album long before WR recorded it.

This is not a cover, the score was written by Joe Zawinul in 1977 and is on the Heavy Weather album. Manhatten Transfer covered it in 1979! :-)
